Chandelier

Digital art/marker and ink, 2022

This project was an exercise in line weight, marker drawing, and photorealistic digital illustration. I started by tracing the image with Microns. Then I colored it in with markers, one ribbon of wood at a time. I had just discovered Ronald B. Kemmitzer’s Drawing With Markers and was eager to put my newfound knowledge to use. Finally, I rendered the chandelier in Photoshop. Each ribbon separate layers for form, texture, and wood grain.
